My name is Jennifer Schumann, and this is my son Dylan.
Dylan is 22 years old. He has autism and is nonverbal. He is my world — my everything. And right now, we are in danger of losing everything.
I lost my job and now live on Social Security Disability. We are just days away from losing our car, which we rely on for Dylan’s appointments, therapy, and calming drives. My phone is about to be shut off. I have $30 in my account and $16 in my wallet.
On top of that, our storage unit was illegally auctioned, and we lost irreplaceable family memories, keepsakes, and heirlooms. I’ve filed complaints with the Texas Attorney General and contacted the media — but haven’t heard back.
I have neck injections Monday and may not have gas to get there. I promised Dylan we’d see How to Train Your Dragon today — thank God the tickets were already bought.
I’m asking for a lifeline. Just enough to keep our car, our phone, and hope alive.
If you can help — even $5 — thank you. If not, please share this with someone who can.
From my heart to yours,
– Jennifer & Dylan
