A life saving dental surgery

Hi there! My name is Nicole, and as the title says, I’m trying to make a very expensive operation possible. Before I get into those details though I’ll tell you a little about myself and how I got here to begin with.

I am 31 years years young, a lucky wife, and the big sister of five younger siblings. I was born and raised in a smallish Midwest town, then spent the second half of my life in a big Southern California city. I have been through a lot of trials and tribulations over the years and am proud to say I’ve earned everything I have in my life through hard work, and determination. That said, it makes it really hard for me to do something like this, if you ask anyone around me, I am one of the last people you would expect to ask for help this way.

The long short of it:
I was born with bad genetics as far as dental health is concerned. Throw in some pretty intense trauma over the years, and some really bad dentists and you get the current state of my dental health being a disaster. I have been in and out of dental chairs for most of my life, and every one of them has come to the same conclusion. I need to remove all of my teeth and look at getting implants. I have put it off for years trying to save up only to have my time run out. My latest dental appointment told me that I am lucky to be alive and that I need to act fast.

The long story:
I was born with no enamel, and soft dental spots in my teeth. That led to complications as a child with getting my adult teeth in, and later on lead to a fast deterioration of my smile. Over the years I have had countless tooth infections that cause my face to swell, and pain that I cannot describe. A handful of years ago, I also fell victim to a monster of a man who forced me into anorexia, and other things that cannot be named here. I was able to put him away for life, but to this day I am still dealing with the fallout. My most recent tooth infection led to me finally deciding to make another consultation for the procedure I need done. During that appointment I had an X-ray done, and a partial skull 3D image mapping. This is when I found out just how serious my case was. They found that what I though was one infection, was actually five, that two of the infection had actually started to eat away at the bone of my skull, and that the trauma I had endured from that monster left me with a fracture in my skull that is causing an even faster decay of my teeth. The end of my consultation I was left with the knowledge that I should, for all intents and purposes, not be alive any longer. I can no longer put off this procedure due to the severity of my condition. Essentially, my next infection could be my last. It was a startling and heart stopping moment for me.

Now what:
Naturally I wanted other opinions and to review my financial options. As it stands the procedure I need is going to cost our family 40,900. Not including the after care, and the follow up visits, and medications. Since hearing that number, I started looking at plans to fix things one at a time little by little and found that it would cost twice as much, and take years, something I do not have. Currently the lowest cost I have gotten for the full procedure is the 40,900. I have started applying for loans and credit cards to try and cover the costs, however I have not been very fruitful. The most that I have been approved for was enough to cover the follow up. Next I looked into insurance, unfortunately , despite being a life saving operation, due to the nature of the procedure, insurance considers this a cosmetic problem and will not cover it.

Where does that leave things:
In an act of desperation, I am doing this. I’m begging for help to cover this. So please help in any way you can.

Thank you for reading through this, and thank you for considering my case. If you have any questions please feel free to reach out to me.
