Hi, my name is Melissa Costello and if you know my brother, Stephen Moulton, you know he has spent his life showing up and serving others.
As the Director of Operations at the Himalayan Institute, Stephen has devoted his work to supporting a mission centered on wellness, community, and service. Outside of work, he has been a dedicated member of his local Rotary Club for many years, living out Rotary’s motto of “Service Above Self.”
That phrase perfectly describes Stephen.
He is the person who quietly works behind the scenes to make things better for others—giving his time, offering help without being asked, and supporting his community in countless ways. Stephen has always believed that the greatest purpose in life is to serve.
Now, Stephen is facing the fight of his life at 55 years old.
What began with years of controlled Type 2 diabetes suddenly changed in last 4-5 months into uncontrolled Type 1 diabetes even with insulin. He had also been having some back pains that he attributed to former back issues. Then, sudden neurological symptoms led to a devastating discovery this week. Doctors found that Stephen had suffered multiple strokes, along with a blood clot in his leg. Further testing revealed the underlying cause — advanced pancreatic cancer that has already spread to his liver.
In what feels like the blink of an eye, Stephen and his family have gone from living their normal lives to navigating an overwhelming medical journey filled with hospital stays, specialist appointments, treatments, and difficult decisions.
While Stephen focuses on his health and the road ahead, the financial and logistical burdens of this fight are significant. Medical care, travel to specialists, time away from work, and the many unexpected expenses that accompany a serious illness quickly add up.
Those who know Stephen know that he would be the first person to step forward to help someone else in need. Now it’s our turn to step forward for him.
Please help us support Stephen and his family relieve some of the financial stress so heand his loved ones can focus on what matters most — his care, comfort, and time with the people he loves.
If Stephen has ever touched your life, served your community, or inspired you with his kindness, please consider donating or sharing this page.
Every gift, prayer, and share makes a difference.
Love, his sister and brothers (Missy, Jim and Dan)
