Help Support Lindsey in Her Fight Against Cancer
Lindsey has always been a fighter. Her incredible journey began when she became part of the Green family tribe at the age of thirteen. Russ and I had the privilege of coaching her during the previous gymnastics season, where we saw firsthand her resilience and determination. At that time, Lindsey had faced more challenges than most of us could imagine, bouncing between foster care and living on couches as her biological mom struggled with mental and physical health. Despite it all, Lindsey’s warmth and strength shone through. When a social worker called my sister-in-law Kristen and Shane six months after Lindsey had returned to her mom, asking if she could stay with them, there was no hesitation. She already felt like part of the Green family tribe.
Shane and Kristen had just gotten married, with a 3-year-old daughter, Maddie, at home. They welcomed Lindsey with open arms, and not long after, they made the decision to adopt her. Lindsey officially became part of the family, sharing in the joy and challenges of life, including the birth of her baby brother, Carter, who is now almost 18.
Despite early struggles with school and mental health, Lindsey worked incredibly hard to overcome them, graduating high school early and with honors. In her 20s, she embraced life, traveling across the country and experiencing the world. She always knew she wanted to make a difference and pursued a career in social work, dedicating herself to helping others. Lindsey has been a dance teacher, yoga advocate, and community leader, always finding ways to support and uplift those around her.
In 2023, Lindsey’s world changed when she was diagnosed with breast cancer at the young age of 32. While undergoing treatment, she achieved her dream of graduating with honors in social work from Saint Catherine’s University. Her determination and strength led her to ring the bell in October 2023, signaling that she was cancer-free.
Sadly, Lindsey’s remission was short-lived. Her cancer has returned and metastasized to multiple parts of her body. Initially, doctors estimated she might have up to three years with this incurable diagnosis, but that timeline has now been reduced to less than a year. Despite this devastating reality, Lindsey continues to face each day with the unwavering grace, strength, and resilience that have always defined her.
Lindsey currently works in the ER at Fairview Health, supporting patients in mental health crises. She also remains a beloved dance teacher and an integral part of her community in Minneapolis. Her dance family and friends have rallied around her, offering love and support during this unimaginably difficult time.
As Lindsey faces ongoing medical treatments, hospital visits, and the challenges ahead, we are asking for your help. The financial burden of fighting cancer is overwhelming, and your support can make a meaningful difference. Every donation will go toward Lindsey’s medical expenses, treatment costs, and helping her maintain the quality of life she deserves.
Lindsey has spent her life giving to others—through her work, her dancing, and her spirit of compassion. Now, it’s our turn to give back to her. Please consider donating, sharing this page, and keeping Lindsey in your thoughts and prayers. Together, we can help ease her burden and show her just how loved she is.
Thank you for your support.
