Help us Celebrate and Honor the life of Danny
Donation protected
Dear friends, family, and compassionate strangers…
With a broken heart, I’m asking for your support on behalf of my dear friend Dee Dee, who is enduring a pain no parent should ever have to face. Her beloved son, Daniel Powell, was tragically murdered in broad daylight in Costa Rica. No one has yet been brought to justice. Daniel was living his dream playing professional basketball internationally in Costa Rica. During his time in Costa Rica, he experienced one of life’s greatest joys—becoming a father to his only son, Ezequiel. He had just returned to Costa Rica to visit his 2-year-old little boy when his life was senselessly stolen. Daniel had recently joined an American basketball team and was excited to begin a new chapter. Now, his family is left to carry the unbearable weight of grief, alongside the financial burden of bringing him home and laying him to rest with the dignity and love he deserves. His body is expected to return to the U.S. on Monday, May 7 2025, and plans for his Celebration of Life will be shared soon. We are asking for your help during this unimaginable time. Whether it’s $5 or $500, every donation matters. Thank you for standing with us and showing that even in darkness, love and community shine through.
