A lending hand for Lily

On October 12th we shockingly found out that my sister, Lily, has a rare form of ovarian cancer.

Lily began feeling excruciating abdominal pain in late September and after two hospital emergency visits, she was sent home and told it was a burst ovarian cyst and would heal itself in time. But Lily continued to feel unwell, After scans, ultrasounds, and blood tests, her team of doctors found an ovarian tumor that they were confident was benign. A laparoscopy and biopsy confirmed the worst of our fears. Our bright, ambitious, bubbly Lily had cancer.

Lily is due to undergo surgery on January 12th, 2023. She has endured IVF treatment to retrieve eggs for freezing - a grueling, painful, and emotionally strenuous experience. Her surgery will see the removal of her right ovary, fallopian tube, the majority of her left Ovary, Lymph nodes, and potentially the fatty curtain that covers her organs in the abdomen.

Lily has been off work since late September and has received no aide or assistance. She has used her savings to pay for all of her tests and her family has used all their resources to pay for her two surgeries, medications, IVF treatment, and the storage of her eggs.
