I never imagined I would have to write these words about my big sister, my best friend, and one of the most beautiful souls I’ve ever known. I am Stefanie’s baby sister, and with a heart full of love and unimaginable sadness, I am creating this GoFundMe to support her husband, Jim, and their three precious children as they begin a life, they never expected to face without her.

Our brother-in-law Jim and his 3 children are facing a tremendous loss. On July 6, 2026, Stefanie Kristine Barber was called home to the Lord at the age of 42 after a courageous battle with cancer. Throughout her journey, her loving husband, Jim, and their three young children—Luke (6), Grace (4), and Clara (3)—remained faithfully by her side every step of the way.

Stefanie’s greatest joy in life was being a wife and mother. Together, Jim and Stefanie built a home rooted in faith, love, laughter, and family. She was the enthusiastic cheerleader on the sidelines, a talented cook who filled her home with the warmth of Italian family meals, and a source of endless encouragement for her children. To those who knew her, Stefanie was a gentle smile, a comforting embrace, an unwavering example of faith, and a steadfast partner and best friend to Jim.

While Jim and the children are surrounded by the love and support of family and friends, the road ahead will undoubtedly be challenging as they learn to navigate life without Stefanie and the many ways, she enriched their lives.

This fund has been established to provide support for Jim and the children in the months ahead by easing financial pressures and allowing Jim to focus on family, healing, and creating new memories together while honoring Stefanie’s legacy.
