n memory of our dear, dear friend and devoted animal rescuer Vikki, who we tragically lost on 8th December.
At 37 years old her sudden death has left us, her supporters feeling bereft and, the animals she was caring for with very little hope.
Vikki befriended all the stray dogs and cats she came across and all the animals congregated to her. She was the sole rescuer at Roaming Tails Rescue which she founded and ran to the day she tragically died.
We are reaching out to fellow animal lovers and anyone whose lives she touched, to raise funds to support her beloved animals and help clear debts she had with a local vet and pet food supplier.
Vikki fed animals in the fields and took many waifs and strays into her flat from the streets, often in these same wintry months. For these animals who were part of her family, to be put back on the streets or end up in kennels would be another tragedy and travesty on top of this already heartbreaking situation.
We urgently need to find safe haven in the next 3 weeks for her animals (as her flat is being cleared) but also, in collaboration with other rescues, to help them find loving and lasting homes. If anyone also feels they can sponsor, foster or adopt one of her Roaming Tails please do get in touch. Her animal family need your help.
Anyone who knows Vikki and her work at Roaming Tails, recognises that this animal whisperer spent her whole life befriending, saving and nurturing the abandoned and abused animals around her, often at the expense of her own wellbeing and health.
We know it would be her dearest wish that the roaming tails that she befriended are now not abandoned or forgotten but safe, secure and cherished.
Please let's come together to help make this happen.
