Hi everyone! My name is Luke, as in Luke Skywalker. I'm a 6 month old puppy (American pitbull - Terrier mix), full of energy and joy.

Unfortunatelly, when my Mom and Dad picked me up from the adoption center, I had an injured leg, but they wanted to take me home anyway... I felt so lucky!

Now, the plot thickens. My new family took me to the Vet, down at MedVet New Orleans-Surgery Department, and Doctor Galley (he is awesome) told us I needed surgery as soon as possible, on my rear left leg. The diagnosis was Tibial tuberosity avulsion fracture, which needs repair with open reduction and fixation of fracture with pins. It sounds spooky, but me and my family know that we are in good hands. Mom and Dad love Star Wars, but they don't want me to have the same "accident" as the real Luke Skywalker, if you know what I mean (wink-wink).

This procedure will cost $2,900 USD, which came to a big surprise for Mom and Dad, since they were picking me up from an adoption center were the adoption fee was only $200 USD. At the adoption center they told us that if we couldn't afford the surgery, they could only help us by amputating my leg; they don't have enough budget, since they are a non-profit organization.

My Mom and Dad promised me they would do all they can to avoid the amputation, so they scheduled the surgery with Doctor Galley to save my little leg; they had to use their credit cards, whatever that means!

This is my story, and even though Mom and Dad told me not to worry, I'm hoping you could help them out to recover from their debt. They love me so much, and I'm so happy they are doing their best to save my puppy leg, so I can run and play again. Any donation is more than welcome! They also told me the donations would be used only to cover the cost of the surgery.
