Many of you may know me already. My name is Denea Donovan. I’m a single-parent to my 3 year old daughter, Riley. I am also a current college student at Anoka Ramsey Community College. Because of the load of single motherhood, I have needed to complete my classes online. After obtaining my degree next semester, I will transfer another college to complete my POST (peace officer) certification and hope to become a Conservation Officer for the DNR.

Financial “stability” has been a struggle, as I’m sure almost 100% of people reading this also feel.

I am in need of a new/refurbished laptop in order to complete my studies, as well as have a reliable storage for court documents, evidence regarding my domestic violence experience. In the past I have scraped together $200 to buy a cheaper laptop from Walmart, but it frequently crashes out and doesn’t have adequate storage. After years of uncertainty, I have found a path toward success, happiness, and building a better future for my family. I can utilize the library at times but there are certain softwares needed to be downloaded for classes (lockdown browser) to make sure you’re not cheating, etc. I also need the ability to accomplish coursework at home whenever I can fit it in (my daughters naps, even last night I was up til 2am reading my coursework) I am asking for financial help, with some hesitation, as I don’t like asking for help in general. And I know many people are struggling financially, just to make ends meet. Any amount will help me being able to purchase a computer that will help me succeed on my academic and life path in general.
