We at A KnUW Way believe that an important part of our education should also reconnect us with the land, ourselves, and The Creator. For the past year, we've partnered with the Promise Land Farm (one of the few 40acreas and a Mule properties given by General Sherman to the enslaved Roderick Steele at the end of the Civil War in his Special Field Order 15) to provide Living & Learning Experiences to homeschooling families.
Our "Lessons From the Farm" and "Family Farming Cooperative" have provided children with hands on learning opportunities in planting, growing, and harvesting crops; caring for chickens; composting; construction, and valuable skills they will need to become self-reliant with the ability to provide for themselves and their families if the need ever arises.
And now we'll like to expand by purchasing our own farm land so that we can provide more opportunities for learners of all ages. By building a campus we'll be able to better prepare future generations with the farming skills they'll need to be self-reliant. While we understand not everyone who participates in our program will enter the world of professional farming, we still believe there are invaluable skills each of us must know in how to grow and harvest our own food wherever we may live.
Do you believe our children need these skills also? Then we'd love your help to make sure these experiences don't disappear as the world grows ever more technologically advanced. Please show your support with a donation of any amount. Every dollar earned will go directly towards the purchase of the land.
We deeply appreciate your commitment in support of our efforts!
Preparing our Children to take our Place through Knowledge, Understanding, and with Wisdom.
~A KnUW Way
A KnUW Way of GA is an intentionally multicultural farm based homeschool cooperative located in Savannah, GA that provides social and educational experiences (both on the farm and throughout the region) that promote self-reliance and skillfulness; as well as support for the homeschooling community at large.
We believe the best way to heal our nation from racial insensitivity is to get to know each other on personal and meaningful levels. To that end, our cooperative seeks to support families (especially those parenting Black and Brown children) in their transition to homeschooling and provide opportunities for positive interactions between all races.
We welcome you to join us as we create a safe space where honest multicultural relationships for ourselves and our children can be formed; and where we can reconnect with nature, each other, and our Creator.
