On November 4th, life was turned upside down. Kingsley, my 3-year-old nephew, was recently diagnosed with medulloblastoma, which is brain cancer. The tumor, which was the size of a baseball, was located on his brain stem and spinal cord. After a 12-hour surgery, his team of surgeons and doctors feel they have removed 90% of the tumor!
Kingsley still has a long road ahead of him, needing about 6 weeks of radiation and 6 months of chemotherapy. Desiree and Jason have been unable to work as they have been at Milwaukee Children’s Hospital with Kingsley day and night.
The financial strain on Kingsley’s parents is substantial. With medical bills piling up, the challenge of feeding a family of nine, transportation costs, parking fees, and the need to maintain a sense of normalcy for their six other children who are active in school, the burden is simply overwhelming. Both Desiree and Jason have missed multiple days of work and will potentially need to take many more unpaid leave from work to support Kingsley during his treatments.
Despite this formidable obstacle in their path, Kingsley’s family is determined to fight and navigate this brutal and unjust journey. They are not alone, as we stand beside them, ready to offer our unwavering support.
Your contributions will make a significant difference in Kingsley’s battle against cancer. Every donation, no matter the size, will help alleviate the financial burden and allow the family to focus on what matters most – Kingsley’s health, well-being, and full recovery.
Thank you for your love, support, and enduring compassion during this challenging time. Together, we can help Kingsley face this battle with strength and determination.
