A Kidney Transplant for Allan

The kidneys are vital organs.  About the size of a fist, they sit just below the ribs on each side of the spine.  These organs spend their time filtering blood to remove waste and balance electrolytes.  A person’s blood flows through the kidneys several times a day to keep things clean.  When the kidneys fail, serious health problems can follow. 

Allan has Stage 4 kidney disease.  This means there is severe damage to the kidneys which leads to many complications.  While there is still some function of the kidneys, they are close to failure.  We are seeking help for Allan to receive a kidney transplant.
 


Allan has built relationships with many of us dating back three decades. He has worked across the world from the Philippines to Australia to India to the USA.  He has worked in games and movies at places such as at Disney, Fox, and now Scientific Games.  He is one of the most talented artists and leaders many of us have ever worked with or had in our lives. 

Allan inspires and brings the best out of all of us.  As an artistic leader, he has pushed us to explore and grow.  His quiet personality has lured us all in to his great vision and passion.  He is a remarkable teammate and friend.

Allan Fernando’s generous and kind personality has touched us all.  He makes you laugh.  He helps you grow.  He makes you glad he is in your life.  Allan is a friend and an artist, a coworker and a neighbor, an animator and a role model.  He is a leader and a teammate.  Through all of this, the struggle and pain, Allan has continued to stay strong.  He puts a smile on his face, he makes jokes and goes about his day.  He remains strong which is infectious for us all.   He has supported many of us and brought our talents and games to new heights.  It is our chance to support him.

There is good news!  Allan has a donor match!  After seeking alternative treatments, Allan looked for a kidney donor.  There have been several attempts to seek treatment both domestically and abroad.  The attempts to obtain money to cover the costs have stretched from many phone calls, to reaching out to the India Embassy.  He has people working to help, but unfortunately, it is still pending.  The donor matches are outside the USA and previous attempts to acquire the necessary visas for the donor to come here have been denied.  While Allan continues to pursue the visas, we are planning for additional options. 

Not to worry, together, we will send Allan to the donor for the procedure!  For all of those that contribute, we will be helping pay for the kidney transplant procedure for Allan and any additional treatment costs we can.



Allan has said his biggest concern is his heart.  With the love and support of all of us, we can get the kidney transplant for Allan and let his big heart continue to spread the love and influence that it has done so well for so many years.
