In September of 2024, Joseph, only 37 years old and a father of two young children, was diagnosed with IgA nephropathy completely out of the blue. Doctors initially projected that it would be at least a year before he would require dialysis and a kidney transplant. Unfortunately things didn’t go as planned and on January 24, 2025 Joseph began dialysis three times per week and started the urgent search for a living kidney donor.

A Selfless Act of Kindness

Through a Facebook group, Joey received an outpouring of support from numerous people willing to get tested to see if they were a match. He is deeply grateful to everyone who shared his story, filled out paperwork to help, sent well wishes, and offered prayers.

A dear friend of Joey’s, Greg, has graciously offered to donate a kidney to him and is the perfect match. This incredible act of generosity is life-changing, but it also comes with financial challenges for both the donor and recipient. The donor, Greg, is also a loving father to a young boy, making his sacrifice even more profound.

Not only is Greg giving Joseph a second chance at life, but he is also demonstrating what true friendship and selflessness mean. The transplant process requires extensive testing, preparation, and recovery time, impacting Greg’s ability to work and provide for his family. Despite these challenges, he remains committed to saving Joey’s life.

How the Funds Will Be Used

All donations will go directly toward:

✅ Travel & Accommodation – Depending on the surgery time and location, both Joey and Greg may need lodging, transportation, and meals during pre-op and post-op visits.
