A kidney for Jason
Donation protected
My name is Jason Preslar. I am 35 years old. I have a wife named Faith and a 2 year old son named Wyatt. The Lord blessed us with Wyatt after 10 years of trying for a baby. Wyatt is such a blessing and I want to see my son grow up. When I was in the 3rd grade, I was diagnosed with diabetes and then in November 2016 I was diagnosed with kidney failure. At this time I am currently on the transplant list at Wake Forest Baptist Health and MUSC Charleston. I work full time and go to dialysis 3 days a week and hooked to the machine 4 hours each time. I have never allowed my health conditions to stop me from working, being a husband, being a dad, doing for others and from enjoying life. On April 3, 2018 I was contacted by Wake Forest Baptist Health because they found me a kidney and a pancreas, however before I was taking into the operating room, the doctor came in and advised the donor's kidney was good however the pancreas was too fatty. I was then sent back home and was put back on the top of the list. The doctors say I can get a call anytime. The transplant process is long, costly with escalating physician visits/labs leading up to the transplant and I will have to remain on dialysis until I get the transplant, which dialysis is costly too. This Go Fund Me is for medical bills, medication, travel expenses and living expenses that will occur during and after my transplant. Asking family and friends to donate money is something that is very difficult for me. I struggle being in this positon because I am the one that helps others and gives to others in their time of need. Any donation is greatly appreciated and will help during/after my transplant. If you are unable to donate, I completely understand, however I ask you to please keep me in your prayers. My family thanks you for your love and support during this time.
Thanks,
Jason
