Let’s make Dwight all right!

Hi, my name is Ditas. I am the older sister and frenemy of Dwight. We go back a long way. Since birth, we’ve been going at it. We promised we’d be there for each other. And we have.
My brother Anthony Dwight Gaston (known to most of us as Dwight Gaston) is a multi-talented artist, actor and musician. His passion for his art has touched a lot of people: his costume designs for Batang X, Mulawin, Majica and others have become cultural icons; adults fondly remember him as a beloved part of their childhood during his Batibot days, he has entertained many with his wacky music compositions and was frequently seen in teleseryes and movies.
But all that may be over. He was diagnosed with chronic obstructive pulmonary disorder (COPD), diabetes, congestive heart failure and other diseases. Over the years his health deteriorated and he got fewer gigs and job opportunities. This got even worse with the pandemic, until he was virtually jobless. He contracted pneumonia twice and his degeneration accelerated. Until last May, after three days of nonstop vomiting, he was in eminent danger of a heart attack, a stroke, or seizures. He was airlifted to Negros Occidental (riding a commercial airplane would have caused fatal delays), rushed to the ICU,suffering from multiple organ failure. By the grace of God and aggressive treatment, he was brought back from the brink.
Now emaciated and weak, he hopes to have a measure of his old life back, and the opportunity to make people laugh and share his art and music again. Our siblings and I, have been financially devastated. The ICU, the twice weekly dialysis sessions, the chest stent operation, have wreaked havoc. We are far from a rich family. And so we send this appeal to the many friends, colleagues and classmates who love this comic genius to help finance the logistics of dialysis, medicines, tests, oxygen, doctors‘ fees and Caregiver. Any amount will be of tremendous help. Thank you for your generosity.
