A Kidney for Carol

Carol has been undergoing dialysis for nearly two years, a devastating process. Since then, two possible donors underwent testing. Due to weekly dialysis treatments, Carol has experienced skin discoloration and hair loss. Each were ineligible. Yes, Carol was quite disappointed.

However, on August 21, Carol received a kidney, and the surgery was successful! She is currently recovering. The procedure took approximately 4-5 hours to complete the process. Recovery time will be 8-10 weeks to rebuild her immune system.

Carol will return to work as a Resource Teacher in the Kansas City Missouri Public School District for the 2023-2024 School Year.
