A Kidney and Hope for Jennie

Donation protected
This is my Nephew's wife Yen (Jennie) Kim. She has been diagnosed with End Stage Renal Disease (Glomerulosclerosis). She recently started dialysis after related heart problems were discovered. She will need a kidney transplant when one is available. The sooner the better.

Yen's husband, Jimmy, was raised in our home since 7th grade due to the illness of his mom. He was a good boy and we raised him as a son. Now, his wife Yen, is like a daughter to my wife and I. She is a very sweet girl who works very hard to be a good mom. Their girls, Minah and Eunah, call us Gramma and Grampa. We love them all very much.

They've worked hard at their jobs for a decent life for themselves and their children. They bought a small home just a few years ago and Minah just finished kindergarten at St Paul Catholic School. She is looking forward to 1st grade there. Eunah just had her 2nd birthday, but from delivery to today, hospital stays and multiple tests have kept them apart more than any mom and daughter should.

Now Jennie is unable to work due her dialysis schedule. She hopes she can find a part time job to accommodate this schedule, but her loss has cut their income in half. This is difficult for any budget, but as they trim to the bare necessities, more medical bills are starting to roll in. Jimmy is working all the hours he possibly can, but it's not enough. Their current insurance is lacking and she's three years shy of Social Security coverage. But she and Jimmy are fighting for both.

I'm recently retired and help them as much as possible. But I can only do so much. So I'm searching for all ways possible to make this less stressful and damaging for their young family. So I'm reaching out for love.

Funds are needed to keep up with household bills, Minah's school, and current medical costs. Later when dialysis, donor testing, and transplant costs are known, I will upgrade this goal or start a new campaign. This first step is to put them back on their feet and keep hope alive.

Please give as you can. Any small amount will grow, any large amount will be a blessing. When we go over our goal, the funds will be carried forward to cover the impending medical costs of the transplant.

PLEASE, PLEASE SHARE! AND SHARE AGAIN!

This monetary campaign will help them financially, but a donor is needed to save Yen's life. If you have the courage, capability, and desire you could be a miracle to this family. On the web site, utclivingdonor.com, one can complete a questionnaire to see if you'd qualify as living donor for Yen Kim, or anyone. Completing the questionnaire does not commit you. You can change your mind any time, for any reason. Blood type B and O are compatible.
