Our son has fallen in love with sport karate. He’s a 13‑year‑old 2nd degree black belt who has been training since he was four years old. Karate has been a huge gift for him, it’s helped him with confidence, focus, routine, and given him a place where he truly feels like he belongs. This year, his hard work paid off in a big way: he earned a spot on the traveling competition team Team Rumble of Lawrence Championship Martial Arts, as well as on the WKU Team USA and now has the opportunity to compete at tournaments across the U.S. and at the World Championships overseas this summer.

As parents, we want to give him every chance to chase this once‑in‑a‑lifetime opportunity, but the costs of travel, fees, gear, and training add up quickly. We are asking for help to get him to these tournaments so he can represent his school, his team, and the USA on the world stage. Our bigger dream is to build a small training dojo in our backyard, so he has a safe, dedicated space to practice year‑round, no matter the weather.
