Hi! My name is Ariene.
I’m a 34-year-old nurse from The Philippines.
I moved to England in 2022 with my husband, to build a better life for our precious 2-year-old son.
This year has been incredibly challenging and frightening for us: in May, I suffered a massive brain bleed (AVM) Arteriovenous Malformation when I was 5 months pregnant of our second son. Thankfully, I survived the surgery, and I was able to give birth a few months later: his name is Chase, a healthy baby boy, who just turned 4 months old.
The road to full recovery has been and is still steep: even after receiving the brain surgery, I have been struggling with the left side of my body, as it is extremely weak. Rehabilitation is progressing slowly, and it will take a long time before I will be able to be self-sufficient.
As much as I celebrate the daily tiny milestones, there is still a long way to go. My husband is very supportive and is working very hard for our sake; however, we are very worried about what the future holds. I am still under maternity leave, but this ending soon. We have been in the UK for only two years, and so I am not eligible for any benefits.
I am asking you to join me in this fight for recovery. Your contributions, no matter how small, can help to alleviate the financial burden we are currently facing: this will mean a lot and will help me be more positive and to focus on my healing journey. Together, we can turn this challenging chapter into a story of hope and resilience. Please consider donating to my fundraising campaign and share my story with others. Thank you for your kindness and support!
