My name is Moamer Ramadan Khilla.

I am a Palestinian journalist, writer, and father from Gaza. For many years, I believed in the power of words that writing, truth, and education could make life better for others. I worked as an editor-in-chief of an online news platform, and I dedicated my time to speaking about society, human dignity, and the struggles people face.

I lived a simple but dignified life. I had a home. I had work. I had a future for my children.

Then everything was taken from us.

Our home was destroyed. We were displaced again and again, with no place to feel safe. I lost my son, a loss no father can ever recover from. I lost my savings, my work, and the stability I spent a lifetime building.

Today, my family and I live in a fragile shelter, trying to survive each day.

But now, I am facing another battle,one inside my own body.

I have been diagnosed with bone cancer (multiple myeloma), a serious and life-threatening condition that requires urgent and specialized medical care. In Gaza, under these conditions, access to reliable medical care is extremely limited. This means that every day without proper care carries uncertainty and fear.

Despite everything, I continue to try. I look for any kind of work. I try to stay strong for my family. I try to protect them, even as my own strength is fading.

This is not easy for me to write.

I have spent my life giving to my work, to my community, to my family. I never imagined I would reach a moment where I have to ask for help.

But today, I am asking.

Not just for myself, but for the people who depend on me.
