A Japanese Wish

Donation protected

Hello,

My name is Caroline. I am married to Mikael and we have two children, Kian (14) and Caitlyn (10). We live in Alness, Scotland. I am 43 and in October 2016, I was told my aggressive breast cancer from 2014 had returned and spread to my lungs, bones and lymph nodes. In June 2019, it spread to my brain. And in October 2019, it spread to my liver. As you may know, cancer that has spread is incurable and therefore, terminal.

The top of my bucket list is to go back to Japan for my second and last time.

I have written an honest account of my new outlook on life 2 years ago here:

It is an emotional read for some (the thousands of warm and comforting replies I’ve had told me so), but it explains in more details why I wish for this trip to Japan.

Japan is a country that has fascinated me for years. I don’t need a luxury stay over there, but with Japan being on the other side of the world from the UK, it remains an expensive trip for which we don’t have the time to save for. It would be worth it though, as the complete change of culture, scenery, language etc...is bound to stay as a precious, long term memory for my family. I am so scared of being replaced and forgotten...

I do not know how long I have left and do not wish to know, but obviously, I cannot afford to wait for too long so I hope to be able to go during the October Holidays (October needs to redeem itself, don’t you think?).

Thank you in advance for your kind support and/or donations.
