Hello, My name is Mardochee Pierre

 

I am making this campaign to help my mom with this situation that she and our whole family face.

 

In 2019 My oldest sister was diagnosed with pneumonia causing her to leave the house, and it's been a struggle for the last two years of my mother to try to fight to get her back home. And my mother has been suffering for the last two years when it comes to getting her back in the house. And recovering in a way that will benefit her.

And ever since the covid-19 pandemic has hit the country. My mother has struggled when it comes to finding a job due to the fact that she worked in nursing. And was susceptible to getting the virus. Due to that, her income has been hafted on top of paying for accommodation for her daughter, who is recovering in a nursing home after her illness.

 

For the last 30 years, Marie has been raising her family by herself. 2 boys and 2 girls. Which was made that much harder due to the fact that her oldest daughter. Jenny was mentally disabled and unable to care for and do anything for herself meeting Marie to take responsibility for all of that.

 

 

 

Despite her struggles. Marie was able to work and rent a house for her family to live in.

 

And although the price of living was high. Marie did her best to accommodate all of her children. Despite the high cost, she was able to forego the price in able to give her children a living situation in which they don't have to be in fear of the unknown.

 

In 2011, she moved into a house in Miami Dade county that she was renting that cost $67,000 to buy but didn't have the money or support to buy it. Now the house is worth $370,000. Despite that though. She has continued to rent and live in that house for upwards of 11 years.

Throughout the time that she has lived in her house, many people have bought and sold the house over her. Despite this, she was still able to get the house. Rented back to her at a similar cost due to her situation. Due to the fact that she is caring for a disabled person. She needs to make sure that the house she moves in is handicapped accommodation to make sure that her daughter would not be any problems living in a place.

 

but ever since the start of the coronavirus epidemic, Everything from the price of rent to the price of living has gone up in Miami-Dade County. And Maria has been placed in a situation to where she has now been paying everything, At a more exorbitant price leaving her with generally, nothing at the end of the day.

 

And due to her daughter being out of the house due to her condition. She has been forced to pay for her accommodations to recover as well as accommodations for the rest of her family.

At the beginning of the year, 2022, it was announced that Miami-Dade County was one of the largest housing markets in price in the US. With this has come a higher cost of living in Miami-Dade a higher cost of rent and a higher cost of utilities.

 

Due to this, finding a house that can fit the specific criteria that Marie will need to accommodate her family and disabled family member is difficult.

 

At the beginning of January 2022, the new landlord of the house that Marie was living in raised her rent. This really concerned Marie, but even though the higher cost of living, she did not defer from paying her rent on time.

 

Despite this, the landlord of the property that she was living in decided to sell the property that they were living in giving them only 2 months/60-day notice. And on top of that, they told them this at the last moment.

 

Now, Marie and her family are facing a crisis due to the increasing cost of living in Miami-Dade. She is unable to find a house in her price range to rent that will accommodate a disabled family member.

 

On top of that, due to Jenny's recovery from her pneumonia and due to her mental disability. She needs a lot of different equipment to be set up in her house for monitoring her and her conditions when she would get back home.

 

And she was to be expected back very soon and do to this information. It has been put in Marie and so much distraught because she's now unsure that she could even get her daughter back.

 

Me and my family are seeking These funds in order to buy the residence that we currently live in in order to be financially stable, knowing that we have a residence so we can stay, not rent, and also being able to set up for Jenny to return and recover at her house.

 

And finally, to give back to the woman who sacrifices so much to ensure that her children have had an excellent place to stay.
