A Hope and Home for Our Friend, Ashley

Hello! We are Soumia Shah and Diya Bapat, middle schoolers that live in Frisco, Texas. We recently visited a poor neighborhood called Cocal in Costa Rica. There we met an 8-year-old girl named Ashley. Her house was burnt down in a fire two months ago.

She, her brother, and her mother are currently living in a house made of thin metal that barely fits a small bunk bed for the three. We are raising money to fund a new house for them, which is a $4,000 premade small house to shelter her and her family. First, we will raise enough money for a roof that will keep them safe through the rainy season.
