A Home-run for the Dave Potokar Family

Hi, my name is Heather and I’d like to introduce you to my late brother in law, Dave Potokar, and his family.

Dave was diagnosed in May 2021 with liver cancer and was given a grim prognosis. But he’s a fighter! Always has been, especially on the ball field, but as we’ve watched him and his adoring family fight cancer we’ve come to know just how strong he truly is. He fought until the very end, passing away on Monday January 16th, 2023. He is an MVP in our eyes.

Dave spent a lot of his time on the baseball fields his entire life, from playing as a young boy, making the school teams, playing softball as an adult with friends and family and eventually coaching his own beloved children and many others in the community. He even chose a burial plot that was as close as possible to the junior high baseball field where he spent many days in his youth.

As much as he loved baseball, nothing compared to the love and adoration for his favorite team: his family. As Dave was the dedicated sole provider of their family, including 4 growing children with one currently serving an LDS mission, we would love your help to lighten their burden and hit a home run for Dave by donating to help with the following:

1. funeral expenses

2. Burial expenses

3. a ticket to fly their son home so he can attend the funeral

4. any additional help they need as they settle into their new normal

As Dave’s sister-in-law, I speak of behalf of our entire family when I say thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
