A BIGGER HOME NEEDED FOR ANIMAL RESCUE TABLELANDS
Donation protected
Animal Rescue Tablelands is a Registered Not-For-Profit Organisation, donations over $2 are Tax Deductible and has been established in Mareeba since 18th of July 2012, rescuing abused, neglected, abandoned & owner surrenders, we rescue from Mareeba, Cairns, Cooktown, Innisfail, Rockhampton & Mornington Island, we get all their vet work done, de sexed, vaccinated, microchipped, wormed, flea & tick treated, and bringing a lot of the rescues back to good health and then finding their forever families.
We have opened up the Seconds Shop at 68 Byrnes st Mareeba 4th of April 2018, to help us fund finding our bigger home, and we are asking for community and Local business support, the people who have helped our shop stay open, and who have helped us over the last nearly 7 years support our Rescue, also a huge thank you to FNQ Vets Mareeba, Ulysses Vet Cairns, Animal Welfare Cairns for their continued support.
We have also been recognised by the Community Achievement Awards, as a Semi Finalist Nominated for Ricoh Australia Customer Service Award.
Animal Rescue Tablelands is needing to find a bigger home and we need your help. Our objective is to have a facility that is state of the art and offers a complete rescue and rehab centre where we can isolate and care for the high risk sick & injured rescues, rehabilitate ones who need extra help and a care centre for our mum’s who come into care that are pregnant and can have their pups in a safe and secure space.
Our current home is only a medium size property so we are very limited on how many high risk rescues we can save. Just over the last year we have had three mums brought in who have had their litters in care - thats 27 newborns!!! These mums came in extremely sick and malnourished and would not have had a chance without the dedicated weeks of caring and daily medical attention required to bring mum back to a heathy state. Just one mum needs at least 6 weeks of concentrated care where we provide specialised feeding and medications to assist her in providing nourishment for her pups.
We have been given the opportunity to purchase land and kennels, to enable us to create a centre that will provide facilities to isolate and care for sick, injured animals who come into care with mange, heartworm positive rescues, emaciated rescues & so many more illnesses we see. Our new home would also incorporate a full rehabilitation centre for dogs that need that extra care and attention due to horrific abuse. By being able to have this type of facility we are able to bring the sick, injured and abused back to their beautiful selves where they will then go to live with foster carers in family environments until their adoption. Our foster carers, who are located throughout Cairns and the Tablelands, provide the next stage for our rescues where they receive basic obedience, toilet training, socialisation in a family environment until they find their forever families.
A focus with our new centre will also be a place where we can help with boarding pets for families in a crisis situation, and those who do not want to loose their fur family member/s due to domestic violence or extreme circumstances.
This centre would mean the world to all our current and future rescues, and allow us to save so many more. We do not receive any council or government funding and all monies raised comes from our dedicated supporters and hard work of our team. This centre really would be one of it’s kind and a "NO KILL" rescue.
Animal Rescue Tablelands Inc prides itself on guarantee stopping unauthorised breeding as ALL of our animals are de sexed prior to going to their new families. Some places pay for the de sexing however will go to their adopted families prior, which can actually continue the cycle of puppy mills and "accident" litters.
Help us continue our work on a much larger scale and bring the centre to realisation. We thank you for your support!
