Greetings, My name is Joe. Our family has been unhoused for 10 months. We are currently staying in an extended stay hotel and we've spent $14,000 since July to maintain a place to stay. The local Department of human services has denied Food stamps and other assistance. It is said I make to much, however $25hr for a family of 5 is tight. I work everyday 40+ hrs. a week as office coordinator for a mental health and substance abuse practice. I just don't make enough.

My wife homeschools our children as we cant afford shoes and clothing for them. We are attempting to explain to the children Santa may not find us this year. That has been very difficult and heart breaking to explain to them. They have been as understanding as children can be, even offering to get a job.

We don't know how this works or if anyone will see this. Any assistance any amount is greatly appreciated and we will keep you updated on our journey. $5 or what ever your lead to give is appreciated.
