A Home for Jim: Ending His Truck Stop Life

Meet Jim. Jim is 91 years old and has come across a rough spell. For the last 6 months, he has been living out of his truck in a truck stop parking lot. His wife died some years ago and his only family has abandoned him and, for lack of better words, has thrown him out. What little he has in income, goes towards maintaining his truck payment, insurance, and feeding himself only once a day.

Can you imagine living in your vehicle in subzero weather at 91 years old? Jim is. This has become his reality. A reality we are hoping to change. Tonight, he is housed and warm and has a bed to sleep in. But a long term solution is what we are interested in for him. We are in the very beginning stages of helping him find permanent housing, a place for him to call home.

Any and all funds raised will go directly into helping Jim obtain housing and help solidify a more livable way of life. A meal, a monetary donation, or even just sharing this post will help us get Jim where he needs to be.

No body deserves to be alone.
