I’m a mom of five, raising my second generation, a 6 year old and a 3 year old. It was a struggle with my first three children, and I'm proud to say that we made it. They are grown and embarking on their own journey. My new focus is on creating a permanent home where my little ones can grow up safe, loved, and surrounded by memories.
For the past 8 ½ years, we’ve lived in a space that has been ours, but now our landlord is selling the building. I’ve been pushed out of three different Brooklyn neighborhoods by gentrification, and I’ve felt the harsh reality that a home can be taken away, no matter how much heart and history you pour into it. That’s why securing a stable, permanent home is not just a dream—it’s essential for my family’s future.
That’s why we’ve set our hearts on a historic home. It spoke to us the moment we walked in. This isn’t just a house—it’s a sanctuary, a foundation for our family legacy, and a place where love and history meet.
Why We Need Your Help
This home needs restoration to bring it back to life. Your support isn’t just about bricks and mortar—it’s about:
- Securing a stable home for our family and preventing displacement
- Restoring historic features like the stair landing, stained glass windows, grand porch, and yard
- Creating a safe, warm, loving environment for my children and their children
Every contribution brings us one step closer to making this dream a reality.
Our Goal
We aim to raise $450,000–$500,000, which will cover:
- Home purchase: ~$350,000
- Restoration & repairs: ~$120,000–$150,000 (structural, cosmetic, and energy-efficiency upgrades)
- Campaign and processing fees
