There is a place... where magic happens.
Welcome to Brújula, an independent Montessori-inspired school in Conil de la Frontera (Andalucia, Spain) that has been growing and thriving for over 11 years.
We believe every child deserves a safe, inspiring place to learn freely – connected to nature, guided with respect, and nurtured as a whole person. Our approach blends Montessori principles with active pedagogy, creativity, and compassion.
But now we need your help.
️ Why We're Asking
For over a decade, we’ve had to move almost every year. Long-term rentals for schools in Conil are extremely hard to find – especially in a tourist region. Often, we’re asked to leave over the summer or face short contracts.
But we’ve found a place. A real one.
An old countryside house where we can stay year-round – long-term.
Now we must renovate, make it safe, and build a child-friendly garden and a yurt (for extra space and learning).
And we have to do this before September 2025.
Why We Start Small
The total cost for this project is about 28,720 €.
But we’re starting this campaign with a first fundraising goal of
15,000 €.
This will allow us to:
• Remove dangerous asbestos roofing
• Begin the main renovation works (walls, plumbing, electricity)
• Install safety features
• Purchase essential materials
If we reach this first goal, we’ll expand the campaign to fund:
• The yurt
• Playground and garden
• Tree planting & garden beds
• Animals & learning areas outdoors
About the Children
We currently have 26 children enrolled, and our waiting list is growing. Our space must be ready – and safe – by the beginning of the school year. The garden and yurt will be essential to host everyone.
We welcome families from all walks of life and backgrounds. Education here is rooted in freedom, cooperation and care.

Existe un lugar… donde ocurre la magia.
Bienvenidos a Brújula, una escuela independiente inspirada en Montessori en Conil de la Frontera, que ha crecido durante más de 11 años con amor, compromiso y respeto por la infancia.
Creemos que cada niño merece un lugar seguro y estimulante donde pueda aprender libremente, conectado con la naturaleza y acompañado desde el corazón.
Y ahora necesitamos tu ayuda.
Por qué necesitamos tu apoyo
Durante más de una década hemos tenido que cambiar de lugar casi cada año. En Conil es muy difícil encontrar espacios de alquiler a largo plazo para escuelas, especialmente por el turismo.
Pero esta vez encontramos algo especial:
Una casa antigua en el campo que podríamos alquilar todo el año y por largo tiempo.
Pero necesitamos reformarla, hacerla segura y adecuada para los niños, y construir una yurta y un jardín.
Y todo esto tiene que estar listo antes de septiembre de 2025.
Por qué empezamos con un objetivo parcial
El costo total del proyecto es de unos 28.720 €.
Pero comenzamos esta campaña con un primer objetivo de
15.000 €.
Con esto podemos:
• Quitar el techo de amianto
• Iniciar las reformas estructurales
• Instalar medidas de seguridad
• Comprar materiales necesarios
Al alcanzar este objetivo, iremos por la siguiente etapa:
• Comprar y montar la yurta
• Acondicionar el jardín
• Crear zonas de juego, huerto y quizás tener animales
Sobre los niños
Actualmente tenemos 26 niños inscritos, y más familias están interesadas.
Necesitamos más espacio para poder recibirlos.
Nuestro enfoque educativo promueve la libertad, el respeto, la diversidad y el desarrollo integral del niño.
