Well, I can't believe it has come to this. I am going through a divorce after 35 years of marriage. I recently moved to Richland to try and make a better life for me and my son. It has been a very difficult year since my husband and I split. There were nights I slept in my car or on other people's couches.
Things finally seemed to be turning around. I have a place to live, I found a wonderful church and new friends, and my 14-year-old son loves his new school. My problem? I can't find work! I have applied for and turned in 62 applications. Living in the Tri-Cities, most jobs require you to be bilingual, and I only speak one language. I am working with job coaches. I am cleaning houses when I can, but the market for housekeepers is flooded with people who will clean for half the price.
I'm still dealing with an abscessed tooth, I have a UTI, and my car broke down on Friday. My rent was due on the first. I have tried everything to get work to provide for me and my son and never want to ask for a handout, but I don't know what else to do. If you can help us or share this, I will be forever grateful. God bless you and thank you for reading.
