Help a Single Mom Breathe Through the Holidays
I’m raising money to support a dear friend — a single mom of two — who works tirelessly to provide for her children, yet is constantly struggling just to stay afloat.
She runs her own business, works every week without breaks, and does everything she can to give her kids a safe, loving home. One of her children receives special education services, which is why staying in her current community is essential. Rent alone is $2,000 a month, and with the rising cost of food, utilities, and basic necessities, there is no margin for error.
She has no family support, no safety net, no savings — it’s all on her. If one unexpected expense hits, an eviction notice could be on her door. That’s a fear she lives with every day.
During this season, when many of us are resting, celebrating, and enjoying abundance, she will be leaving her kids at home to go to work — carrying an enormous amount of stress and responsibility alone. And yet, she remains an incredible mother: showing up for school meetings, caring deeply for her children, and finding ways to give them joy despite how heavy things are.
My goal is to raise enough to cover January rent, and ideally two months of rent, to give her a little breathing room as we head into the new year. Any amount helps. If each of us gave just a fraction of a grocery bill, a tank of gas, or a phone bill, it would add up quickly — and most of us wouldn’t feel the loss the way she would feel the relief.
I’m protecting her privacy and won’t be sharing personal details, but please know this: she is just like you and me. A hardworking parent doing her absolute best in a system that is not enough.
If you’re able to give, you would be offering something incredibly meaningful — the gift of stability, rest, and hope. Thank you for reading, sharing, and helping in any way you can.
