Our dear friend Anner, from Gibbon, is facing one of the hardest battles anyone could imagine and he’s fighting it almost completely alone. He has no family support, no safety net to fall back on, and every day has become a struggle just to survive.

Anner urgently needs a kidney transplant, but due to circumstances out of his control, he hasn’t been able to get on the transplant list. Until he qualifies, he must undergo dialysis three times a week — a draining and painful process that leaves his body exhausted and his spirit worn down. These treatments are the only thing keeping him alive, yet they also take up so much time and energy that he can only work part-time.

Even with everything he’s going through, Anner still tries to show up, still tries to smile, and still tries to fight but the reality is heartbreaking. His reduced hours make it extremely difficult for him to cover basic needs like rent, food, transportation, and medical bills. Many days he goes without things most of us consider essentials. The stress of choosing between staying alive and staying housed has taken an emotional toll that no one should ever have to endure.

And now, as the holiday season approaches, a time when most people gather with loved ones and feel warmth, comfort, and support, Anner is facing some of the loneliest and most difficult days of his life. While others are sharing meals and making memories, he is fighting to keep a roof over his head and hoping he can afford the treatments that keep him alive. This should be a season of peace and joy but for Anner, it has become a season of worry, fear, and uncertainty. This illness has completely taken over his life. He spends more time in hospitals and clinics than he does anywhere else. And he’s doing it all without a family to lean on.

We’re hoping that you our community can be the support system he doesn’t have. Whether it’s a donation, a resource, a connection, or even a message of hope, anything can make a difference for Anner right now.

If you know of any resources, programs, or organizations that could help him get financial relief, medical guidance, or a pathway to the transplant list, please reach out.

And if you’re unable to donate, we completely understand. We just ask for prayers, love, and strength for Anner as he goes through this incredibly tough time. Thank you for reading, sharing, and helping however you can.
