Vontago Smith, known to friends and family as Tago, is a gentle, kind-hearted man with autism whose life changed in an instant on September 13, 2025 in Havana, Florida. While simply walking home, he was struck by a hit-and-run driver, leaving him alone, broken, and fighting for his life.

The accident crushed his left ankle and fractured his right leg in four places. After multiple surgeries, blood transfusions, and nearly a month in hospitals and rehab, Tago is beginning the hardest part—recovery. He cannot return to work, his income has dropped drastically, and insurance has fallen short. His family faces overwhelming medical bills, ongoing therapy, and daily care needs.

Yet Tago’s spirit remains strong. Every day, he pushes through therapy with one goal: to walk again. But he cannot do it alone.
