A Hiccup in medicine- incurable unknown disease

A HICCUP IN HEALTHCARE, AN UNNAMED INCURABLE DISEASE:
Kevin has an incurable unnamed medical condition that has his multiple of doctors perplexed. It has cost him his job and a sudden expulsion from MetLife disability and health benefits because they will no longer recognize his medical condition as disabling after 29 months of coverage; he even worked at a hospital!
After a surgical procedure in December 2015, he immediately began hiccups in large gulping spasms, it is progressively worse. Daily, and multiple times, he is not able to breathe for up to two minutes (think of having the wind knocked out of you several times throughout the day)! He cannot sleep and he cannot eat without choking.
Kevin was a successful actor and model, perhaps you’ve seen him on THE CLOSER, MONK, FACTS OF LIFE or PRETTY IN PINK, now with this condition, his gulping for air is so loud that he cannot be “quiet on the set”, or speak lines. The doctors, nurses and co workers at his hospital job agree he cannot work anymore; yet, MetLife’s disabilities sudden decision to drop him after 29 months of coverage has left him without any healthcare for future doctor visits and procedures as well as no income to pay his rent or bills. His life will be in jeopardy in one month when his savings runs out.
NO ONE WANTS TO CHOKE TO DEATH BECAUSE OF A GLITCH IN THE MEDICAL SYSTEM.
PLEASE HELP MY FRIEND, I love him so much.
