Meet Wyatt, our bright, adventurous, and kind-hearted 5 year old who never lets Type 1 Diabetes slow him down. He loves being outside, playing with his sisters, and dreaming big-but behind his fearless smile is a condition that never takes a break.
Wyatt was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes at just 4 years old. Since then, our family’s life has revolved around constant blood sugar checks, sleepless nights, and the ever-present worry that his blood sugar could drop or spike without warning. Even with technology like his Dexcom and insulin, Type 1 Diabetes is unpredictable and for a child so young, that unpredictability can be extremely dangerous.
That’s why we’re raising funds to get Wyatt a medical service dog specially trained to detect changes in his blood sugar, even before his monitor alerts us. These incredible dogs can smell the tiniest chemical changes in the body and alert us when Wyatt’s levels start to shift, giving us precious time to act before it becomes an emergency.
A diabetes alert dog would give Wyatt more freedom, more safety, and more peace of mind, for him and for us as parents. It means fewer nighttime scares, safer playdates, and a loyal best friend who always has his back.
The cost of training and placing a fully certified diabetes alert dog can be $20,000–$35,000, depending on the organization. Every dollar helps us get one step closer to Wyatt’s life-saving partner. The funds raised will go directly to covering the expense of the alert dog.
If you can donate, share, or simply send a prayer or word of encouragement, we’re deeply grateful. Together, we can give Wyatt not just a service dog, but a true hero by his side.
Thank you for helping us make this dream a reality. ❤️
