My name is Nigel Hetherington, and I am reaching out to you today to ask for your support for a woman who has been the heart of my life in Egypt for over two decades.
In 2003, when I first moved to Egypt, I met the woman I now call my "adopted" mother: Om Emad (the mother of Emad). Since that year, she has been a pillar of strength for me, a devoted maternal figure, and a beloved friend.
A Lifetime of Hard Work
Om Emad is the definition of a hardworking, working-class woman. She has spent her entire life working tirelessly to raise her family and look after everyone around her. She is the kind of person who has always put her head down and done the work, never asking for a hand-out and always putting the needs of others before her own. She has earned every bit of respect she carries through years of grit and dedication.
The Situation
Recently, Om Emad was involved in a serious accident. She is currently in a severe condition and requires a significant operation to ensure she can recover fully.
In Egypt, navigating the costs of high-quality surgical care, hospital stays, and the necessary blood supplies is an immense challenge. For a lady who has spent 70+ years giving everything she has to her community and her family, these mounting medical bills are a burden she simply cannot carry alone.
Our Goal
I am raising these funds to ensure Om Emad receives the dignity and medical care she deserves to get back on her feet. Your contributions will go directly toward:
* The essential surgical procedure and specialist fees.
* Hospitalization, medication, and blood supplies required for her treatment.
* Post-operative care to ensure her recovery is complete.
Om Emad has been my family since the day I arrived in Egypt in 2003. Now, I am asking my community to help me take care of the woman who has spent a lifetime taking care of us.
Whether you can donate or simply share this link, every bit of support helps bring Om Emad one step closer to a full recovery. Thank you for your kindness, Nigel
