It's hard to write this as I am not sure where to begin. I guess at the beginning of the year for this family- a family so near and dear to so many.
Many of you know Stacie, owner of the incredible brand Amae, maker of magic. She has opened up on her social media about her fight this past year against Anorexia, a fight literally for her life. In June, she was in a relapse and in July she headed to Missouri for a specialized residential program where she fought every single day for 9 weeks, being stable enough to come home in October to continue treatment in the Bay Area- happy to be back with her husband, Kristian, and their two small kids, Addie & Drew.
Stacie was beginning to see some light. She had started to return to her passion of designing and making clothing, a talent unmatched by most. She was getting back into running, another passion of hers, and was finding her strength both physically and mentally. Her fight for herself and her health was starting to get easier. And, although she knew it would always be a struggle with a long road ahead, she was happy to get back to life and grateful for it all.
And then-
On December 9th, Stacie's husband, Kristian, came upstairs to kiss Stacie goodnight after putting the kids to bed and suffered a massive stroke as he walked into their bedroom. Unable to help him on her own, Stacie called 911 and Kristian was rushed to the hospital where he spent over a week in ICU.
A lot is unknown of the future for their family. Kristian's stroke was massive in size and scope. Doctors are calling it a miracle he survived.
Kris is home now and gaining strength daily. But, not much is known timeline wise, which is incredibly hard for their family. It is still unknown how much time Kristian will be off of work, when or if he will be able to drive again or even when he will gain back some of his motor skills.
The combination of Stacie's brave battle and Kristian's stroke has put this family into financial stress, something that we could easily help alleviate for them.
We have the ability to help relieve their financial stress & ease their life and that is amazing.
There is no doubt that The Lucas Family is a family of fighters. But, let's let them focus on fighting the physical and mental battles ahead and take the financial burden off their plate.
Let's come together and make their world a little brighter, a little easier, a little more filled with love. Let's surround them with light and give them the gift of relief in one area of their lives.
