A helping hand for the Boultinghouse family

Two weeks ago my families world was turned upside down when my stepdad Don was admitted to the hospital with COVID-19. At first he was admitted just for monitoring. His transplant status makes him more susceptible to Covid complications. Two days after being admitted things started going down hill. First he went into renal failure, followed by respiratory distress. He was transferred to the ICU were he has had small victories and significant set backs he has been on life support for the last week and the prognosis is grim, but anyone who knows Don knows he’s a fighter and one of the strongest willed people on earth. He wants to LIVE!!
He has so much to live for!
A year and a half ago he was given the most amazing gift by a incredible women, a new kidney. For our family it was a game changer he was able to do things we thought he wouldn’t be able to do again like taking his grandbabies camping, fishing, hunting, teaching his granddaughters how to sing Grease horribly off key, and giving them their annual “fuzzy Christmas blankets” that get lint everywhere. It has been a time of great joy. We finally had the old Don back. To say it has been a miracle is an under statement!!
In 2020 he welcomed a new granddaughter whom he is over the moon about along with four other grandchildren that he loves unconditionally and is so proud of. He’s a wonderful father who would do absolutely anything for his kids. Twenty years ago he had a daughter with the love of his life Becki but due to unforeseen circumstances prior to birth she was born developmentally disabled. This led Don to his calling in life. He started working with develop mentally disabled adults and his passion just kept growing. He is now an advocate for people with disabilities. He has spent many hours going above and beyond to help with Special Olympics even going as far as picking up Pom poms and leading cheers. Always making sure that everyone could participate no matter their ability level.
With a strong faith in God him and my momma have survived unthinkable hardships but this is a time in life where they need a helping hand. Any support is very appreciated donations, shares and most of all prayers! On behalf of the Boultinghouse family thank you!
