Hello friends!

Thank you for taking a minute to read this. We are attempting this Go fund me to try to get some help for our mother Mari and Father Gary! Our mom has been in poor health for the past couple of years. Respecting her wishes, we basically tried to keep her as happy and comfortable as we could. A very stubborn and independent lady, our mom was clear about her wants. Little did we know that she was actually in much  worse health than any of us knew. Right before Christmas, on Dec 22, 2020 Gary arrived home from work and mom was on the floor.  He frantically called us for help, but we were mostly sick ourselves with Covid at the time, so thank God he called 911. Her pulse was at 30 and her body temperature was about 15 degrees below normal. Unknown to us, her organs had begun to start shutting down and she suffered a mild heart attack. Once in the hospital, mom was diagnosed with a very rare thyroid disease called Myxedema  Coma.  We had never heard of it. Only 1 in 22 million people get a diagnosis of this disease which affects all of the major organs, causing hypothermia, as well as sever change in mental status.  Due to this very unexpected illness, mom has had a terrible set-back..as you could imagine She is only 64 years old, a formerly vibrant and feisty woman, now after a month long hospital and rehab therapy stay   (No flowers or visitors- Thanks Covid!). She is home and unable to do any of the things she loves even walk into the bathroom, she needs continued therapy and nursing care.

Due to all that our mom has been through, we need to make A lot of adjustments throughout the house. The family is helping in every way possible.  Every little bit helps, if you are able to contribute in anyway, please know how much it helps! We really want to get a stair lift to get mom to the second floor for showers and adjust the bathtub for her because of getting in and out safely.
