Hello Everyone,
Char Rendon is a Queens native and is in need of help! Char identifies as non binary transgender (They/them pronouns) and is battling a very aggressive form of Crohn’s Disease which requires extensive chemotherapy.
In September, Char was diagnosed with sacroiliitis as a result of aggressive inflammation directly affecting the spine.
Unfortunately, the diagnosis has progressed to a very aggressive form of Lupus, and a tumor has been discovered to be minimized with radiation and removed.
Their Crohn’s has also caused other health concerns (like abdominal cramping and severe pain, bleeding, diarrhea, constipation, malnutrition and extreme weight loss, painful skin lesions, joint inflammation, and nausea/vomiting) that have left them bedridden and unable to work.
Although Crohn’s has no cure, Char is on an aggressive chemotherapy regimen which exacerbates the above symptoms and leaves them in need of urgent medical treatment. The cost of medical treatment has also left Char unable to afford basic living expenses such as food and other necessities. Any donation or share on social media helps Char get the care they need to battle this horrible, life-altering disease.
Char was an active rower at Binghamton University and coach at Row New York’s Queens novice youth women’s team and sister of Chi Upsilon Sigma, National Latin Sorority, Inc. and we would like nothing more than to help them get back to their usual, athletic, bubbly self.
Thank you so much for your consideration in helping Char!
