A helping hand for Billy Alexander
As many of you may already know, Bill Alexander became ill back in February. After several hospital visits, tests and procedures, Billy was informed that he would require a life saving organ transplant.
Since February, there have been several ups and downs, however, being ill left Billy feeling weak and made functioning day to day very difficult.
Billy was again hospitalized this month, but on Thursday, the doctors told him they were sending him home to spend time with his family, but he should be prepared for a phone call over the weekend.
By the grace of God, that phone call came on Saturday night, which led to an immediate trip to the hospital. Once admitted, the waiting game started, with not much information available, all that could be done was to wait.
On Monday, the surgeons advised that the donor was a match and they would be heading into surgery. After a 7 hour surgery, Billy was taken to intensive care to start the recovery process.
Bill has agreed to swallow his pride and has humbly agreed to allow this page to be posted. With a long road of recovery ahead, we want to make sure everything for the Alexander Family is taken care of.
Even though droggy from the medication, Billy wanted more then anything to thank everyone for their prayers as he truly believes that is what got him through the surgery.
