Send my Teacher to ‘Umrah

I’m sharing a request that is truly close to my heart.

A short while ago, I had a dream of a prominent woman in da‘wah standing on a stage teaching. Yet she did not look as she usually does - she appeared frail, almost unwell. I woke up reflecting on how much our teachers give of themselves to this ummah: their time, energy, health, wealth, and lives - often quietly, without recognition.

Allah reminds us in Surah al-Insaan of those who give purely for His sake,

seeking neither reward nor thanks. I pray Allah preserves our teachers, keeps them sincere, and accepts from them abundantly.

There is a beautiful teacher of mine who constantly gives and serves others. Allah knows that she truly needs this ‘Umrah. For her dignity and privacy, I would like to keep her identity confidential, but I can personally vouch for her. If you need further reassurance, you are welcome to message me privately.

People sometimes ask why I choose to fundraise for individuals or religious experiences, especially in a world witnessing so much suffering and atrocity. I want to be very clear about this.

People are the true currency of the ummah.

The Prophet ﷺ did not leave behind huge amounts of wealth - he left behind people and knowledge. He built hearts and minds that went on to carry Islam forward, creating a ripple effect that transformed families, communities, and generations.

When we strengthen a woman of knowledge and service, we strengthen her, her family, other families, communities, and the wider ummah in ways we may never be able to measure.

This is a conscious, values-driven choice rooted in Prophetic wisdom. With respect, this is not a question I wish to be asked again.

We have just three days to raise £3,000 to send this teacher to ‘Umrah. This cost will cover both the group package and the flights entirely.

We need 60 people to give £50, or 150 people to give £20.

If you’re able to give more, £100 would be incredible.

If you’re stretched, even £10 helps.
