Hello there, my name is Allen and I'm raising funds to help cover for my mother's funeral and burial cost. Anita passed away on 1/19/2026 after having successful emergency surgery when she developed new complications.

We were preparing to have this second surgery when we could get everything scheduled, but before we knew it, she experienced bad abdominal pains one night last week apparently due to an obstruction of the bowels when 911 had to be called. After being transferred to Hershey and, as I stated, having the second surgery successfully, we were informed of her having bad veins in her legs, which made it difficult to get blood circulation. After an exhausting discussion, the vascular surgeon team decided amputation of my mother's leg was imminent and the only option. But the day before her last day, shortly after my visit when I left, I was called about her trouble breathing and the tests they had to put her through. Upon those tests, we found she had an obstruction of the aorta, which restricted blood flow to her kidneys and intestines. She had developed pneumonia too, and unfortunately, we were given no options for recovery. So rather than let her suffer longer, we had to say goodbye until we meet again someday.

My mother was a good soul, better than sometimes I gave her credit for. Our relationship grew to new heights when she moved in with me almost two years ago, but about 5-6 months ago, she chose to move in with other family members. I will always remember those days for the fact she liked to cook and bake. She loved the simple things in life like bingo and making friends with anyone who would give her a minute to talk to, and she was always easy to make laugh.

Unfortunately, with her passing, she wished to be buried, and obviously, that's an expensive option that none of us were prepared for. If we reach our goal, I'm willing to give up my grave plot that my grandparents took care of for me many years ago so my parents can be buried like a traditional couple should.
