Hi everyone,
This is one of the hardest things I’ve ever had to write. My dog Captain — my best friend, my shadow, my heart — is nearing the end of his life. He’s 14 years old and has been fighting through multiple health issues, including cancer, arthritis, anxiety, and cognitive decline. Despite it all, he still greets me with love, tries to play, and never stops trying to be by my side. He’s a fighter, and he’s given me everything he has.
After a recent vet visit, I’ve made the heartbreaking decision to let him go at the end of this month. I want his passing to be peaceful, at home, surrounded by comfort and love — not fear or pain. I also want to have him cremated, so I can keep him close and honor everything he’s meant to me.
Unfortunately, the cost of in-home euthanasia ($425) and private cremation ($475) is more than I can afford on my own right now. I’ve never been good at asking for help, but I know this is a moment I can’t do alone. If you’re able to donate, even a small amount, it would mean the world to me and help me give Captain the goodbye he deserves.
Thank you for reading this, for caring, and for loving us through this difficult time. Whether you can give or just share this, I’m so grateful.
With love,
Captain's mom - Carys
