Allow me to introduce myself; my name is Prabat, and I find myself reaching out to you today with a heavy heart and a profound plea for help. I am fundraising to provide assistance to my dear friend, Sima Magar, who is currently enduring an unimaginable ordeal following the tragic passing of her brother, Nivan Magar. Words alone cannot encapsulate the depths of despair that Seema is currently grappling with.

Let me take a moment to share with you the poignant story of Nivan Magar, a vibrant soul who departed this world at the tender age of 24, having lost his battle against the relentless grip of depression. Nivan was known to all as a warm, loving, and friendly individual, who effortlessly brought joy to the lives of those around him. Little did anyone know about the silent and arduous struggle he was silently enduring. The devastating news of his untimely departure has left those who held him dear utterly shattered.

Nivan's journey was marked by separation from his mother at a young age, and the prolonged periods of isolation during the COVID pandemic only exacerbated the shadows that loomed within him. It is truly heartbreaking to fathom that someone as vibrant and cherished as Nivan was feeling so utterly helpless, suffering silently to the point where he saw no other recourse but to surrender to the darkness. Each one of us carries our own battles, but it is our solemn duty to cultivate an environment where one can confide in others without fear of stigma. Together, we must draw strength from one another and raise awareness about the profound impact depression can have. No one should ever have to feel as alone as Nivan did.

Today, we stand before you with an urgent plea: to raise the necessary funds to facilitate the repatriation of Nivan's remains to his motherland, Nepal. Sima Magar, Nivan's elder sister and the only family member residing in the UK, bears the weight of this responsibility. However, the associated costs are exorbitant, and Nivan's mother remains in Nepal, separated from her beloved son. This appeal is a mother's heartfelt cry, her sole desire is to gaze upon her beloved child one last time and perform the final rites that honour his memory.
