Hi everyone, I’m organizing this GoFundMe on behalf of the Cangin family, who are going through an incredibly painful and unexpected loss. On February 23rd, their beloved Annette Cangin passed away. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, and aunt — and she meant the world to everyone in the family.

Annette wasn’t the type of person who only cared for her own children or grandchildren. She cared for everyone. She took people in when they had nowhere to go, made sure everyone had a place at the table, and was always the one the family leaned on. She was the heart of the home and the one who kept everyone together.

What makes this so devastating is that her passing was preventable. Annette was in a nursing home, and a bed sore that should have been treated immediately was ignored until it became a severe infection. By the time she was finally taken to the hospital, the infection had spread too far. Despite everything the doctors tried, it was too late. Losing her this way has been unbelievably painful for the entire family.

Her passing has also created a sudden financial burden. The family wasn’t prepared for funeral and burial expenses, especially with everything else they’ve been managing — medical challenges, housing issues, and now the loss of the woman who held them all together.

We’re asking for help so the Cangin family can give Annette a proper, dignified farewell — something that honors the love, strength, and generosity she showed throughout her life.
