If you know my sister (Miss Blanca,) you know she has one of the kindest, purest hearts in the world.

It’s not just because she’s a beloved kindergarten teacher who pours her soul into her students every single day. It’s because she lives her life with love, patience, and light in everything she does.

Miss Blanca has lived with a health condition that never once slowed her down until now.

A few days ago, she suffered a severe heart attack that required emergency open-heart surgery. She was airlifted from Liberal, Kansas to Oklahoma City, where doctors worked tirelessly to save her life.

By the grace of God, she made it through the surgery. But her road to recovery will be long and challenging before she can go back to the classroom and see the little faces that mean so much to her.

Miss Blanca has always been a warrior, strong, selfless, and full of faith. Even in pain, she smiles and worries more about others than herself. Now, it’s our turn to lift her up the way she’s lifted so many.
