Hello, my name is Derek, and I’m reaching out with a heavy heart to ask for your help. My little doggo, Liberty Bartholomew Jackson—Libby for short—has been my world for the past 11 years. She’s always been a happy, healthy pup, full of life, love, and a sassy personality that makes everyone who meets her fall in love instantly. But now, she’s facing the biggest battle of her life, and I’m doing everything I can to fight for her.

Libby has been diagnosed with a severe stage 5/6 heart murmur, an enlarged heart, and a leaky valve, causing her blood to flow in the wrong direction. This has taken a major toll on her tiny body, and for such a small dog, these conditions are life-threatening. The scariest moments of my life have been watching her faint—not once, but three times—unsure if she would wake up. After a terrifying late-night ER trip and multiple cardiologist visits, we now have a treatment plan that can help keep her comfortable and extend her life for about one more year.

The problem? The medical bills are piling up fast. I didn’t have pet insurance at the time, and by the time I got it, it was too late to cover any of these expenses. Everything—her ER visit, diagnostic tests, echocardiograms, and medications—is coming out of pocket. I’m doing everything I can to give her the care she needs, but I need help to keep up with her ongoing vet visits and life-saving medications.

If you can find it in your heart to donate, no amount is too small. Every single dollar will go directly toward her medical expenses to keep her alive and as comfortable as possible. Libby is still fighting, and I want to fight alongside her for as long as I can.

Just look at her pictures—you’ll see her bright, bubbly personality, full of love and trust. Then look at the ones of her at the vet, where it feels like the light has been sucked out of her. She’s still here, she’s still fighting, and she just needs a little help to get through this.
