Hi, my name is Sheila, grandma to twins Eloise and Oliver, and their older brother Theodore.

I never imagined I'd be writing something like this, but our family is in crisis, and we need your help.

My daughter Britni and her husband JC have always been the ones giving back. Through their work in healthcare, blood donations, and supporting local charities like Santa’s Anonymous, Wounded Warriors, and Kids with Cancer. But now, they’re facing something no parent should ever have to go through.

Just 50 days ago, their 3-week-old baby boy, Oliver, went into cardiac arrest at home. JC, a paramedic, performed CPR on his own son -something no parent should ever have to do. Since then, Oliver has been in the Pediatric Cardiac ICU at the Stollery Children’s Hospital. He’s had multiple cardiac arrests, and despite their best efforts, doctors still don’t know why. With their two-year-old son Theodore and Oliver’s twin sister Eloise at home, this journey has turned their world upside down.

Now, Oliver will need a heart transplant to survive. It’s a terrifying but hopeful next step, and one that will come with a long road of uncertainty and financial strain.
